On this auspicious day, to find oneself immersed in the historic bedrock of Washington, D.C., and Alexandria—where the very breath of the Founding Fathers still lingers—and to resonate with the heartbeat of this great history, is a supreme privilege beyond measure.
Two days ago, standing beneath the majestic dome of the United States Capitol, one could not help but witness the struggle and progress of American democracy etched into the very history of its stone walls. Gazing upon the White House and tracing the evolution of the Executive Mansion and its surrounding grounds, a profound reverence takes hold for the monumental decisions executed in this very space. The sheer weight of those pivotal choices, which shaped the destiny of nations and defined the freedom of the world, still permeates the atmosphere.
Yesterday, amidst the serene prayers of the Washington National Cathedral, the true strength of the United States was laid bare. Leaders of major faiths gathered as one, transcending denomination to offer collective prayers for the future. This sight stood as living proof that diversity is not a seed of division, but the most formidable bedrock that unites this nation—E Pluribus Unum. As the solemn cadences of the Declaration of Independence, the Gettysburg Address, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s yearning for justice echoed through the cathedral, these words ceased to be relics of the past. Instead, they were deeply and powerfully engraved upon the soul as a living covenant of liberty.

Even as television screens broadcasted the night sky over Mount Vernon, the exact same magnificent fireworks adorned the heavens just outside the window, detonating in real-time. That light, scorching the sky over the ancestral home of the Father of His Country, George Washington, served as a bridge across time, binding the immense weight of a 250-year legacy with the jubilation of the people living in this raw moment. In that instant, where the modern technology of broadcasting synchronized perfectly with the living breath of history right outside the glass, the grand dynamism of America—the preservation of tradition intertwined with the relentless innovation of the future—struck the heart as an undeniable reality.
