Thanks to its fantastic location, this pool has been used as a filming location for many movies. One of the most famous scenes shot here is likely from the movie “Forrest Gump.” This movie is a human drama that spans American history from the 1950s to the 1980s, and it progresses through the protagonist’s recollections of the past. There’s a well-known scene where the protagonist embraces a woman in the middle of the pool, and this scene was shot at the Reflecting Pool. Simply standing in that location can make you feel like you’ve stepped into the movie.

However, it’s important to note that, of course, you can’t actually get into the pool as in the movie.

The Lincoln Memorial is also open to the public.

After enjoying the pool’s location, why not enter the Lincoln Memorial? As the name suggests, this memorial was built to honor the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. It’s open to the public all year round except for Christmas Day and can be entered from 8:00 AM to midnight. You can appreciate the architectural beauty of the building and the statue of Lincoln, which offers a different kind of beauty from the Reflecting Pool.
