Washington Convention Center serves as a venue for various events such as trade shows, exhibitions, and international conferences in Washington D.C.

Location and Access

Situated in the northwest district of the city, it is located between 7th and 8th Streets, along Massachusetts Avenue, northwest of Union Station.

It takes around 30 minutes by taxi and about 20 minutes by the Yellow Line of the Washington Metro from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to reach the convention center.

Moreover, it is conveniently connected underground to nearby subway stations and hotels.

Facilities at Walter E. Washington Convention Center

The exhibition area covers a massive 65,000 square meters, comfortably accommodating over 40,000 people, making it a world-class event venue befitting the representative city.

There are 77 conference rooms with a total area of approximately 18,000 square meters, hosting various global conferences and trade shows throughout the year. Additionally, there are three banquet rooms.

The convention center also features a huge parking facility capable of accommodating 3,000 vehicles.

Gourmet and Tourist Spots to Visit in Washington D.C.

While many visitors attending conventions may be there for business purposes and return home after their engagements, it would be a shame not to explore Washington D.C. Here, I’ll introduce two popular spots, Chinatown and Georgetown, which are conveniently close to the convention center.

Chinatown – Within walking distance from the Convention Center

Though many convention attendees often use catering services provided by organizers or eat within the venue, I recommend venturing outside to explore. Chinatown is just a 5-minute walk away, offering a variety of delicious authentic Asian cuisines. In addition to dining options, you can also shop and enjoy entertainment activities in the area.

Georgetown – Accessible by bus from the Convention Center

From the Massachusetts Avenue/7th Street bus stop in front of the Convention Center, you can reach Georgetown in approximately 30 minutes using the Circulator bus.

Georgetown boasts a charming colonial-era architecture and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark District. As you step into Georgetown, you’ll feel like you’ve entered a movie set or traveled back in time due to the well-preserved historical buildings from that era.

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center: A World-Class Venue for Global Events

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. stands as an exceptional venue, capable of hosting world-scale trade shows, exhibitions, and international conferences. Its strategic location in the northwest district, close to Union Station, ensures easy accessibility for attendees from all over the world.

[70
post-13964","gallery","type-gallery","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","gallery_category-sightseeing
["GET
